How did you get started writing?
 
As far as I can remember, I've always enjoyed writing. I wrote short stories, poems, and song lyrics when I was a kid. In my teens, I always carried a journal, and once everyone was asleep, I'd sneak out of bed to spend the night writing short stories on the family's shared computer.
 
I started writing fantasy novels as a hobby when I was in college but only later in life decided to pursue a career as a writer. Unfortunately, I never took my writing seriously before. I thought I had to have an office job to be a proper grown-up. Fortunately, I came to my senses and realized life is too short not to do what I enjoy doing. 
 
Do you have any advice for writers?
 
Write a book that you would love to read and take a leap of faith. 
 
Where do you get your ideas from? 
 
Anything can trigger an idea - a book, a movie, a song, a poem, a painting even.
 
Are any of your characters based on real life?
 
No. My characters comes straight from my head. Of course, the world and the people around me can have an influence on me, and therefore, indirectly influence on my writing. 
 
What is your favorite book?
 
I like so many books that it's hard to choose a favorite. Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift might be it, as it was the first book I read that made me realize books were actually fun and not just homework.
 
What are your hobbies?
 
My hobbies include trying different coffee shops, reading, traveling, gardening, acrylic painting, making bracelets, and, most recently, making homemade soap using herbs and flowers from my garden. Just to name a few.

I can't read others' books or advise on stories (I'm afraid those will have to be deleted if you send them through, sorry). I can, however, send you some tips on how to write a book that I find really helpful, please feel free to contact me.
